General

We clean and steam all the dresses before we send them. If you receive your dress with slight creases- please DO NOT IRON. Please steam it on low heat with a clothes steamer or hang it in your bathroom while you shower, the steam will help remove creases.

We expect customers to take reasonable care, but we also know accidents happen. Should you have an accident with food/ drink etc., please do not attempt to clean the dress yourself! Just let us know what happened and our expert dry cleaners will do the cleaning for you.

For damage to fabrics - We do minor repairs free of charge, this is included in your FREE Damage Insurance.

According to the T&C’s, there may be extra charges in severe cases for cleaning, repairs or replacement (up to the RRP of the dress in addition to the rental fee paid).

You can reserve a dress rental up to 9 months in advance.

We recommend your start date as two days before your event to avoid any last minute panic. Once your order has been confirmed, the style is reserved for your dates and a confirmation email will be sent to you.

Our team will be in touch with you, with advance notice, in the case that major damage or loss occurs that may affect your order.

Yes, you absolutely can! 

Adding a backup dress is perfect if you aren't sure about the size or can't decide between styles! 

How does the Backup Dress work?

If you would like to add a second size or another style to your order, simply follow the steps below:

  • Add both styles to your Cart
  • Read & Acknowledge the Terms and Conditions
  • Checkout Step 1: Add the discount code BACKUPDRESS to your Cart
  • This will reduce the second (cheaper) style to 80% OFF
  • Complete the Checkout and place your order

Currently our hire collection ranges from size 4 -18. Unfortunately we cannot stock every item in each size. You can view dresses by size here

By hiring with Dress for a Night, you get 60-80% off the retial price! This means the hire price is less than a third of the retial price.
Price also includes Dry Cleaning & minor damage insurance.

We offer same day pick ups  from our North Sydney boutique! If you can't pick up in person, send a friend, lover, personal courier or uber parcel driver to pick up for you! Just let them know they must come into the store and quote your name (name on the order) to pick up on your behalf. See our open hours here

Post orders: We do not offer same day postage as all items we send all items via Express Post with Australia Post. 

Call our team on 02 8904 0635 to discuss same day courier service if possible.

Our standard rental periods are 4 or 8 days. 

4 days: Set start date as 2 days before the event, wear on the third day, return on the fourth day! 

8 days: Recieve and return your hire on the same day, one week apart; eg recieve Wednesday, wear Sunday, return Wednesday following!

We also offer extended hire periods if you'd like to hire a dress for your holiday - get a quote by emailing customerservice@dressforanight.com.au

All our products are listed in standard Australian sizing. We also include any specific notes regarding fit, on the product page -eg: style has no stretch, size down recommended, etc.

Pricing

Each dress has the option to be booked for 4 days or 8 days. If you require an extended booking, please CONTACT US for a quote

The Backup Dress fee is non-refundable! Ultimately, you pay for the convenience of recieving two dresses to try on and decide between at the time of your event! Just remove the tag from the item you wear. 

If you wear either the Backup dress or the full priced option, unfortunately, we do not refund the difference in price between the two.

  • What does this mean?

If you wear one dress (either your primary dress or your backup dress is returned with tag attached):

      • You will not be refunded.
      • If you wear either the Backup dress or the full priced option, we do not refund the difference in price between the two.

If you do not wear either dress (two dresses are returned with tags attached)

      • You will are eligible for a store credit for the amount of the primary dress only. The fee for the Backup dress will not be refunded/credited.

 

Returns

No, dry cleaning is on us! Just return your hire as is - your Dry Cleaning service is included in the hire fee.

Return on the LAST day of your hire period! You will recieve an email/SMS reminder on the day.

Pick Up Orders: Return in store during open hours. Alternatively you can return the dress direct to our dry cleaner with a 24/7 access via their drop box. Please notify us if you intend to use the 24/7 service- see location and how to return direct to Dry Cleaners here 

Post Orders: Please place your prepaid return satchel (provided with your order) in any YELLOW Express post box or at your local Post Office by 4pm.

No worries, we will be aware of this- your return is due the next business day!

Pick up orders: Return in store during open hours on the next business day. Alternatively you can return the dress direct to our drycleaner with a 24/7 access via their drop box; see locations and how to return here 

Postal orders: Just drop your return satchel to the nearest Express Postal box on your return date. If you are unable to access a yelloe post box, please ensure parcel is returned to your local post office the following business day by 4pm

We depend on our customers to return on time, to avoid disrupting the next customers order. If you are unable to return on your set return date contact orders@dressforanight.com.au immediately.

Anyone can return on your behalf.

A late fee will incur per day past return date. 

Shipping

If the style(s) ordered equal to less than $200.00, an additional fee for return express shipping does apply;

 $19.99 shipping to NSW, QLD, SA and VIC. $29.99 to WA and NT.

This includes a prepaid return label to place on your resealable post bag, to post back to us.

If your oder value is $200.00 or more, shipping is complimentary!

Alternatively you are welcome to pick up your rental form our boutique, there is no additional charge for pickup in North Sydney from our Dress Hire boutique. Please ensure to select Pick up /Click & Collect OR Shipping in the check out process.

We post all hire items via Express Post with Australia Post. The estimated delivery time is 1-2 business days to metro location within Australia.

We do recommend interstate/rural customers consider an 8 day hire period to allow a buffer time between your start date and event date in case of any post delays. For 4 day hire, please start your booking 2 days prior to your event date.

Please read over our overview AND DEDICATED FAQ of when we recommend starting your booking date depending on what state you live in. An 8 day booking may be required if you do not live in a metro area to account for longer shipping times.

NSW Dress Hire: 1-2 business days

Next day delivery possible for your dress hire gown (order before 1pm AEST) within the NSW Post Network: Sydney, Canberra, Albury, Armidale, Bathurst, Casino, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Gosford, Goulburn, Grafton, Grifffith, Kempsey, Lismore, Newcastle, Port Mcquarie, Tamworth, Tweed Heads/ Murwillumbah, Wagga Wagga, Wollongong.

 

If you live outside of these areas, please expect at least one to two additional days for shipping. We recommend an 8 day booking to account for longer shipping. Please note your Event Date when placing your booking.

QLD Shipping: 1-2 business days

Next day delivery possible for your dress hire gown (order before 1pm AEST): Brisbane, Gold Coast, Booval/ Ipswich, Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Strathpine/ Caboolture, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba.

 

If you live outside of these areas, please expect at least one to two additional days for shipping. We recommend an 8 day booking to account for longer shipping. Please note your Event Date when placing your order

TAS Shipping: 1-2 business days

Next day delivery possible for your dress hire gown (order before 1pm AEST): Hobart, Launceston

 

If you live outside of these areas, please expect at least one to two additional days for shipping. We recommend an 8 day booking to account for longer shipping. Please note your Event Date when placing your order.  

SA Shipping: 1-2 business days

We recommend the use of a free parcel locker at the Post Office at 66 St Georges Terrace if you need your rental asap. Please post parcel locker details as your address.

 

If you live outside of these areas, please expect at least two to three additional days for shipping. We recommend an 8 day booking to account for longer shipping. Please note your Event Date when placing your order.

We recommend placing your order 7 days in advance to allow ample time for order to be processed and arrival to you.

VIC Shipping: 1-2 business days

Next day delivery possible for your dress hire gown (order before 1pm AEST): Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Latrobe Valley, Seymour, Shepparton, Wodonga.

If you live outside of these areas, please expect at least one to two additional days for shipping. We recommend an 8 day booking to account for longer shipping. Please write your Event Date in the order notes.
